Spring is here and everyone is anxious to get their yards cleaned up from recent storms and ready for growing season!
Please DO NOT put leaves and debris in roadside ditches. Ditches are intended to carry storm water runoff away from roads and private property and must be free of debris in order to function properly. Leaves and debris should be hauled to the landfill, composted for your garden or landscaping, or SAFELY burned. Any burning should follow proper procedure. Please visit www.burnsafetn.org or call 1-877-350-2876 for burning information and/or to obtain a burn permit through the State of Tennessee.
Please remember that if you put leaves and debris in your ditches, heavy rains will carry this material downstream where it may clog nearby culverts, causing storm water to exit the ditches and possibly damage yours or your neighbor’s property.
Any questions please call Fire Chief Eric Deal at the Zollie H. Bibb, Jr. Fire Hall (615) 797-2781 or Public Works Director Jeff Martin at White Bluff Town Hall (615) 797-3131.
